Hopetoun falls, Great Otway National Park, Victoria, Australia
When I was walking through the forest towards Hopetoun falls on this occasion, it was the surrounding lush canopy of ferns and the mist filled Aire River valley that made for the calming and rejuvenating feeling I had. I wanted to try and capture this in a photograph of the falls. I eventually settled on this composition near the foot of the waterfall, capturing many of the surrounding ferns and moisture laden under growth. For me this photograph represents much of the magic of the forest that is to be found in this location high up in the Otway ranges.
