"The unique patterns on the bark of snow gums never fail to impress. With winter's cover of snow only having just melted, this old snow gum on Mount Buller was emerging from its annual slumber. The colours and texture of the bark made for a great abstract pattern.These trees are known for the vibrant and variable colours on their trunks, which can include reds, oranges, greys, blues, greens and pinks. These colours are a natural variation of the species and tend to be more vibrant at higher and colder altitudes."- Scott
