As I got up I was conscious it was the last day of the year. I was naturally hoping for a great sunrise. I headed out to JB Hut, an old hut that offers sanctuary in this area of the High Country. As the sun rose, the area around me began to wake up: with insects, birds and other wildlife enjoying the cool before it warmed up to be a hot summer's day. It was a relaxing way to welcome the last day of the year.
