"A beautiful day on the South Coast had the waters of Durras Lake flowing out to the Pacific Ocean. Viewed from above, it was great to witness the patterns created with the mixing of waters." - Scott
Durras Lake's outflow to the ocean happens intermittently, with the lake opening during periods of high rainfall and closing naturally during dry spells. The opening is often a result of the lake level rising to a certain height, which then leads to the lake entrance being naturally breached, releasing a large volume of water and silt.
