Geographe Bay, Western Australia, Australia
The scenic coastline of Geographe Bay offers clean white sand beaches alternating with boulder strewn bays and headlands of orangey red granititic gneiss. The water is almost always calm and waveless, sparkling crystal clear above a white sandy seafloor.
The bay is sheltered by the landmass of the Cape from the Indian Ocean’s south westerly swells, so most if its beaches are nearly always calm with only small waves – in complete contrast to the wild, surf pummelled Margaret River coastline over on the western side of the Cape.
