Stanley, Victoria, Australia
Stanley, formerly known as Snake Gully, is a small township in country Victoria. It is nestled in the hills at the edge of the alps in north east Victoria. Many properties in the area have the remains of gold diggings from the Victorian gold rush of the mid 1800s. The gold diggings can be easily seen as you drive through the district. Stanley is famous for its fruit, berry and nut orchards. I captured this lone tree on one of Stanley's many farms on a dull and dreary day where the fog and inclement weather had really set in. At times like this, the weather helps create a terrific mood to a scene that would otherwise be far more bland.
