Wineglass Bay

Freycinet National Park, Tasmania, Australia

Wineglass Bay, with its perfect curve formation of a white sand beach, is one of the most popular natural features in Tasmania. Complimented by the surrounding granite mountains, colourful gum trees and seawater as blue as sapphire, it captures the essence of the Freycinet National Park. After a pre dawn climb to the heights of the Hazards, I was greeted by a rather disappointing sunrise over Wineglass Bay. However, as I sat perched high above the bay, the early morning light emerged and really lifted the scene before me. I was then able to enjoy this picturesque view of what is truly one of Tasmania's natural highlights.
