Snow Gum, Mount Hotham, Victoria, Australia
Wild winter weather was battering Mount Hotham and I was struggling to keep the camera protected from the wind. Huddled around the camera I managed to protect it enough to capture this photograph of snow gums on the upper slopes of Mount Hotham.
This photo sums up much about the Australian Alps in winter. Captured during high winds and passing fog, this snow gum withstands the harsh winter conditions as one of the highest snow gums in Victoria. With the surrounding fog, the gum stands as testament to its survival against the wild alpine conditions it has to withstand during the cold winter months.
