Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, National Arboretum, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
The National Arboretum was covered in thick fog as I arrived early. I was hoping to capture sunrise, but the weather had other ideas given the limited visibility. Instead I found the Margaret Whitlam Pavilion, usually an icon visible from a great distance, shrouded and only visible up close. The conditions created the perfect atmosphere to capture the architectural lines of this impressive roof line.
The National Arboretum Canberra has 94 forests of rare, endangered and symbolic trees from Australia and around the world. You can walk, jog or cycle on over 20kms of walking tracks that wind through the 250 hectare site.
