Rams Head Range & Main Range, Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales, Australia

On this morning, after a somewhat chilly night with temperatures a good ten degrees celsius below zero, I woke to beautiful clear skies and no wind. Such conditions are so much more enjoyable than waking to bitterly cold winds and heavy fog when it's time to leave the warmth of a sleeping bag to photograph sunrise. With such clear skies, I had great views across the snow covered rocks of Rams Head Range through to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko beyond and Main Range. It is not only great to be able to witness moments like these, but bring back photographs like this from camping trips that capture the true feeling of winter at some of the highest altitudes in Australia.
