Macquarie Harbour, Tasmania, Australia
With nothing but the sound of nearby birds and beautiful reflections in the calm harbour, capturing this photo was a true moment of serenity.
This is a side of Tasmania like no other. The Gordon and King Rivers emerge from deep within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, having wound their way through the rainforest to arrive at the wide expanse of Macquarie Harbour. The town of Strahan on the harbour's edge has seen triumph and tragedy, with a rich history that reaches back to the early days of Tasmanian settlement.
