Stockton Beach, New South Wales, Australia
I had spent the afternoon exploring the sand dunes of Stockton Beach. During my time in the Air Force, based in Newcastle, I had flown over these dunes countless times, but never explored them from on the ground. I was amazed at the sheer scale and multitude of different patterns and formations across the dunes. Late in the day, storms rolled in and I got drenched, but not before I managed to capture this photo.
Located north of the Hunter River and Newcastle, Stockton Beach is famous for its sweeping expanse of sand and sand dunes. These extend 32 km long and stretch from Stockton to Anna Bay.
