National Library of Australia, High Court of Australia, Lake Burley Griffin, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
I wasn't sure if I was going to see the sun on this morning. Eventually, just after sunrise, the sun broke though and lit up the edge of the lake. Moments later the sun was gone again. It had provided a fleeting moment of warmth before retreating for an overcast day in Canberra.
Autumn is such a beautiful time of year in many places, but especially so in Australia's national capital. Each year, stunning red trees by the edge of Lake Burley Griffin mark a stunning contrast to the buildings of the National Library and the High Court.
