Chestnut trees, Alpine Shire, Victoria, Australia
The Alpine Shire in North East Victoria during Autumn is awash with brilliant colours from the many deciduous trees that have been planted in the area. I had been driving around all morning seeking a shot I had in mind, but with constant rain and fog I couldn't find the shot I was looking for. So I headed for this spot that I thought might look great in the wet conditions. I shot this, umbrella in one hand and cable release in the other, as the light fell on the brilliant colours of this row of chestnut trees. The darker pine forest created the perfect dramatic backdrop to the bright autumn colours that I had been seeking.
