On The Edge

Watarrka National Park, Northern Territory, Australia

Sitting in the heart of Central Australia, Watarrka National Park is a scenic landscape of rugged ranges, rockholes and gorges that has been home to the Luritja people for more than 20,000 years. Containing the western end of the George Gill Range it acts as a refuge for many plants and animals, making the Park an important conservation area. I was standing on the edge of this rock formation taking in the magnificent views into the valley below and kept being drawn to this tree before me. I knew I had to capture this shot in the evening light. I waited for just the right moment as the sun set before the encroaching darkness took over.
