Mount Buffalo National Park, Victoria, Australia
I had spent the day on the higher parts of Mount Buffalo which were covered in snow. On the way down, as I have many times, I reflected on the journey that the melting snow has taken over countless years down the mountain. One of those journeys is Eurobin Creek. Water crashes down from the Eurobin Falls and the Mount Buffalo gorge courtesy of the icy waters of Lake Catani above. The main tree in this photograph has now fallen thanks to heavy rains, a reminder of the constant changing landscape and the forces of nature that continually shape the world we live in.
An all seasons playground, Mount Buffalo National Park has sheer cliffs, imposing granite tors, tumbling waterfalls, snow gums and stunning wildflowers. The park features over 90km of walking tracks, panoramic scenery and scope for adventurous pursuits such as rock climbing and hang-gliding. The massif rises abruptly from the surrounding countryside, and is visible from many different angles.
