Wallace’s Hut, Bogong High Plains, Alpine National Park, Victoria, Australia
Wallace’s Hut is the oldest known Cattleman’s hut still standing in the Victorian High Country. It was built by the Wallace Brothers in 1889 from slabs of snowgum. In the 1930s its woollybutt roof shingles were replaced by the State Electricity Commission (SEC) when it was taken over as a workers’ hut. Now it serves as a refuge and slice of human history nestled in the wild Victorian High Country. I captured this photograph not long after a short thunderstorm in fading summer evening light. For me, this scene captures some of the mystique of the iconic Wallace's hut, sitting nestled in amongst the surrounding snow gums.

Shadow Box Frame.Your fine art paper print is mounted and framed in a contemporary shadow box frame (27mm wide x 48mm deep) available in white or raw wood (Tasmanian Oak). It is completed with museum grade acrylic (rather than glass) as it is light weight, transports well (doesn't break) and protects against 99% of UV.
Sizes. Framed prints come ready to hang. The listed size is the total finished frame size, including the frame and border around the image.
