Uluru (Ayers Rock), Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
Uluru feels omnipresent, demanding your attention no matter which direction you are facing. It starkly dominates an otherwise completely flat landscape. Photographic images of Uluru are widely circulated, yet they do not prepare you for the way that this famous rock completely commands your attention.
Rising 348 metres above the central Australian desert, this spectacular red rock formation is millions of years old and has countless moods and manifestations. The ever changing colours and hues of Uluru make this one of Australia's most well known and photographed natural landmarks. Rich in significance to its traditional Indigenous custodians, Uluru and its surrounds truly are representative of the Great Southern Land.
