12 Apostles, Port Campbell National Park, Victoria, Australia
The mighty 12 Apostles are a world recognised icon, located on the Great Ocean Road. These giant rock stacks soar from the swirling waters of the Southern Ocean and are a central feature of the spectacular Port Campbell National Park. The creation of the Apostles began approximately 20 million years ago, when the forces of nature started to attack the soft limestone of the surrounding cliffs. The dramatic and imposing limestone cliffs that form the backdrop to the Apostles tower nearly 70 metres, whilst the tallest of the rock stacks is approximately 45 metres high. On this windy winters morning in the dawn light, this long exposure created a peaceful image on what was otherwise a foreboding wintery day.
