THE HILL - Acrylic Desk Block

Australian Parliament House, Canberra, Australia

I enjoyed this early morning at Parliament House without the usual daytime crowds. I wanted to capture the simplicity of the front of Parliament House and this autumn morning provided a great backdrop.

The Australian Parliament House is the meeting facility of the Parliament of Australia, located in Canberra, the capital of Australia. Opened on 9 May 1988 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia it was at the time of the construction the most expensive building in the Southern Hemisphere costing over $1.1 billion. The design involved burying most of the building under Capital Hill, and capping the edifice with an enormous spire topped by a large Australian flag.

Sitting on The Hill, the building is crossed by two axes, north–south and east–west, representing the historical progression and legislative progression of Australian democracy. There's plenty to see inside, whether the politicians are sitting or not.

Available in three acrylic desk block sizes:

  • 10cm x 10cm (2cm deep)
  • 19cm x 19cm (3cm deep)
  • 30cm x 30cm (3cm deep)

ACRYLIC DESK BLOCKS.

Our acrylic desk blocks give the photo a three dimensional look. They are perfect for desks, bookshelves, mantlepieces, bed side tables - any horizontal surface.

The photo is printed on professional grade metallic photographic paper, using archival inks. It is then mounted on the back of an acrylic (plexiglass) block. It is finished with diamond polishing, buffing and final hand polish.

They are free standing, so no hanging system is required. These are a very popular option for gifts, farewell presents or if you need a small lightweight option to travel with. Acrylic desk blocks come in a box ready to gift.
