Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania, Australia
Cradle Mountain, Dove Lake and the boat shed on the lake’s shoreline are some of Tasmania's most recognised icons. These icons are just one of the many features of this picturesque part of Tasmania's World Heritage Wilderness Area.
Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park is a special part of Tasmania, with its ancient rainforests and alpine heaths. It is one of my favourite regions to photograph. The National Park forms part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area and is one of the state's most protected natural places, where ancient pines fringe glacial lakes and icy streams cascade down isolated mountains. Dramatic Cradle Mountain is the rugged jewel of the park. There are many walks to do in and around the National Park - it is a must visit in Tasmania.
