Mount Feathertop, The Razorback and Mount Hotham, Alpine National Park, Victoria, Australia
Views as far as the eye can see, mountain peaks, fog rolling in as the weather changes, windblown snow and ice, snow gums protruding through the snow. These are things I love and recall when I think about winter in the Australian Alps. This image for me evokes memories of winter and much of what I love about photographing during the colder months. Shortly after I captured this image, the fog continued to roll in from the left, completely shrouding the scene before me. Scenes like this are constantly changing in the mountains. It is always a reminder of how fleeting some of these special moments are and how great it is to experience them when we get the opportunity.
