Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia
The wet season rains had been persistent all night. I was up early to photograph sunrise hopeful there might be a break in the clouds. Shortly before sunrise, the sky turned purple and I was greeted with this view of what felt like a tropical paradise. Shortly after, the first boats of the day headed out to explore the Great Barrier Reef, enjoying the stunning views of the rainforest clad Daintree mountain ranges, the Coral Sea, Low Isles, Snapper Isles and the inlet.
Port Douglas is a town on the Coral Sea in Far North Queensland, Australia. It is the only area on Earth where two World Heritage listed sites meet: the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.
