Daintree Tranquility

Daintree National Park, Queensland, Australia

On this day I had spent most of the afternoon being rained upon while exploring the area. When the rain stopped, I was drawn to this particular creek with its fresh mountain water flowing over the granite boulders into a peaceful looking pool. With the water meandering further downstream into the Mossman river, this photograph captures just one of the many relaxing locations amongst the Daintree rainforests.

The World Heritage listed Daintree National Park is home to diverse wildlife species including the Cassowary, Kingfishers, Sunbirds, the Ulysses butterfly and Australia's largest reptile, the Saltwater Crocodile. This pristine region is a wilderness dream of lush tropical rainforests, deserted white beaches, sleepy rivers and breathtaking natural beauty preserved by World Heritage listing for future generations. Throughout the Daintree National Park there are crystal clear creeks that draw you into the forest where you want to sit and relax for hours.
