Tree on farm, Buckland valley, Victoria, Australia

The Buckland Valley is at the base of Mount Buffalo, offering spectacular views, not to mention the many lush farms of apples, chestnuts, vines and dairy cattle, Back in the Gold rush era of the 1850s, this valley was a hive of activity and the site of race riots between the Europeans and Chinese in 1853. These days the valley offers a rich history of Chinese diggings. I captured this image as snow was falling on the top of Mt Buffalo. Buffalo's foothills remained covered in fog with rain falling on the valley below where this lone tree on a farm stood, drenched in moisture.
