Canberra Balloon Spectacular, National Library & Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
On this occasion, I was greeted with a beautiful early morning that lit up the National Library and the balloons above, while the calm waters of Lake Burley Griffin created brilliant reflections. When you get great light like this, it truly is a spectacular sight seeing the balloons slowly drift across Canberra.
The Canberra Balloon Spectacular is an annual event held on the lawns in front of Old Parliament House. Balloons inflate at sunrise each morning (weather permitting) and, after a gentle lift off, fly over Lake Burley Griffin and the city. The balloons come from all over Australia and overseas.
