I'm very pleased to say I have been announced as the 2011 AIPP ACT Epson Professional Photographer of the Year, and the ACT landscape photographer of the year.

This follows the 2011 Epson NSW/ACT Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) Professional Photographer of the Year awards held in Sydney over 27–28 March 2011.

Winning the prize of top Canberra Professional Photographer of the year is terrific recognition of for me and the images I have captured.  Winning this award as well as the landscape category was a surprise. To be judged by your peers in this way against some truly exceptional work from fellow professional photographers is amazing. It’s an honour to be recognised in this way. Also, it’s a great acknowledgment for all that goes into a lot of my work. My four winning images, two of which were shot in China, were all taken in temperatures below zero. Each had their own unique challenges to capture. It’s great when all that effort results in images that others judge so well – it’s personally very rewarding.

My Gold winning image ‘The Wall’ has been released as a limited edition print on my online store.
